In the western part of the Peljesac peninsula, in a beautiful and quiet pebble bay, located west of Cape Liberan is located a small town Viganj. Viganj is 7 km away from the town of Orebic. The boat ride to the island of Korcula takes only 15 minutes. The Peljesac peninsula is connected by traffic and accessible by road vehicles or ferry lines.
This small place is ideal for family tourism but also for lovers of water sports, hiking, biking and jogging. Due to its favorable geographical position, the wind is mostly blowing "maestral", which is conducive to water sports, such as: sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Every year, a windsurfing competition is organized in the Viganj area. Tourists are offered the possibility of courses: sailing, windsurfing and kitesurfing. Apart from water sports, Viganj also offers an excellent destination for hiking on the hill of Sv. Ilja (961 m).
In addition to tourism, the inhabitants of the Pelješac peninsula are also engaged in viticulture, olive growing and fishing. This region is best known for its good wines of the Plavac mali variety: Dingač, Postup and others. In addition to good wines, there are also specialties of Mediterranean cuisine in local restaurants and taverns.
